Time for Renewal

Hi everyone,

A year ago, no one expected us to be where we are today. We expected a different fight with different candidates and different issues. The death of Tita Cory has changed all that. It’s turned into a wake-up call for all of us. We’ve lost a hero, yes, but we didn’t want to lose what she stood for: a Philippines with leaders who place country above self, who respect the rights of all; a Philippines where justice is not just an empty word.

Tita Cory’s death has forced us to confront how badly our country has been governed by the present administration of GMA, how far we’ve strayed from our dreams as a nation. I’m sure that you’ve seen our people’s helpless anger expressed in survey after survey. It’s as if the nation wants to cry out at the top of its tired lungs, “tama na, sobra na!”

It’s true that we’ve been forced to bury our old plans and to make sacrifices (and believe me, that was not easy!) But what do you do when you sense that the times, that the country demands it? So we did something new in Philippine politics. In just a few months, we were able to create a new campaign, a new tandem not based on electoral arithmetic like the others.

No expert would have advised this a year ago. Yet here we are: not by careful design, but because the people put us there. Now that May 10 nears, we once again place our trust in the people… in YOU, as you mark your ballot for the future of this country. Rest assured that when the time comes that an Aquino-Roxas administration is given the chance to serve, that trust will be returned a hundred-fold. We will work for one thing only: to make the years from 2010 to 2016 a time of change, a time of hope… a much desired time for renewal.

Ever thankful for your support,
M.

  • Josephine Acosta Pasricha

    Hi Philippines
Let us sing and pray to God Almighty:
    “Awake from your slumber
    Arise from your sleep
    A new day is dawning
    For all those who weep
    The people in darkness
    Have seen a great light
    The Lord of our longing
    Has conquered the night

.Let us build the City of God
May our tears be turned into dancing
For the Lord our light and our love
    Has turned into Day

We are sons of the morning
    We are daughters of day
The One who has loves us
    Has brightened our way
    The Lord of all kindness
    Has called us to be
    A light for His people
    To set their hearts free.

Mabuhay, Mar Roxas and Korina Sanchez Roxas!
    Mabuhay Philippines.

Whatever happens to this election-please help Noynoy realize our dreams of New Philippines. We voted for both of you so that the money we pay in our taxes will go where it should-and not to corruption. Though we dream of visions of more jobs and industries like that of Gordon,Villar and Erap-we don't trust them like we do for both of you. But I am sure -both of you can still make it happen-even with Binay (I hope not-but the initial tallies are discouraging). You will be always remembered for your sacrifice. And we are ever grateful for that. Kung hindi-magtitiyaga na lang kami either kay Erap,Villar o Gibo.Kawawa naman ang Pilipino

I am really praying that Senator MAR ROXAS will win the 2010 elections. He deserves the position because he puts the country's sake above any other things. I really HOPE AND PRAY that Senator Mar Roxas will win and together with Seantor Noynoy Aquino they can lead us(the Philippines) to greater heights though it would take time but at least with less corrupt people in the administration the people would sleep tight at night knowing the taxes they pay to the government would be in good hands. GO!

  • lani_s

I am praying that the two of you will win. You and Mr. Aquino will always have my vote, no matter what the turnout of the elections. I believe wholeheartedly in the Liberal party and in you, and everything that you are standing up for. The fight's not over yet! Here's to a better Philippines.

Sir Mar, we believe in you… You're a great man with great dreams for our country that I'm 100% sure you'll be able to fulfill

  • alench

Mar Roxas, ikaw ang vice president namin! Sana manalo ka talaga.. We are hoping and praying for it!

  • ravrodriguez

    Sir:

Before Noynoy run for president-I already expressed support for you. I also expressed regret that you agve in to Noynoy-but as you said in your email-Self before the Nation-so I support Sen Noynoy because of you.
Now you are 800,000 behind Mayor Binay. And you are now being accused of cheating.
This has to stop. Please concede-redeem your name and honor. You are above this. You can still do something for the nation and Aquino adminstration-without antagonizing Binay. Binay represent the masa that did not resonate with our ideals and dreams -but is more common. If ever the uncanvassed 7 million tell otherwise-at least you have shown yourself as a stateman-worthy of respect-even when you are down. Please sir…

I'm praying that Mar Roxas will still win the VP race. Let's not lose hope and keep praying. He deserves to win. We need a president and vice president who are not corrupt, These are the foundations for a better Philippines. Only Noynoy & Mar can pave the road for all the good changes the country needs…

Happy birthday, Senator Mar Roxas! Thanks for everything you did for our country, and we really support you all the way. Just to let you know that some of us, many of us Filipinos, are not that apathetic after all….More power and God bless!!!!!!!!!!

  • JEJOMAR BINAY

Mar, maligayang bati! Si Jojo 'to. Shhhhhhhh…. Wag kang maingay, but the truth is, I'm actually rooting for you! I know that you're the more qualified and the more sincere, by far! Ang balita e, the COMELEC Count, which is THE ONLY OFFICIAL COUNT, is a faaaaaaaaaaaaar ways off from being complete, so walang katotohanan ang mga chismis na panalo na ako.

We hope and pray that you'll WIN the vice Presidential race, God Bless, Good Health and don't lose hope.

  • andrie

mind conditioning and ginagawa ni binay na sya and nanalo para kung sakali na matalo sya sabihin niyang dinaya sya- hintayin mo matapos bilangan saka ka umatungal may kopya naman kayo ng resulta-mar is gentleman enough to accept defeat and he will not speak out and will never speak on issues without factual basis

  • Tatzz

    Hi Senator Mar,

I really do wish you will win in this race. We, Bacoleños are so proud of you..
I am also saddened about the sudden shift of the minds of the people and can't understand why they turn to Binay in the end. If you can see the results, the Region 6 and 7 still paved it's way just to show the entire nation that we are free, independent and capable of choosing and making our own decisions and not influenced by other people and those who tend to destroy your good name.

I am also grateful to you and your family for the help you had extended to us when we are in need. Sir, i do pray and hope you will win in the end. All my wishes for you and your wife Korina and the rest of the Araneta family, to Sir Oye and Ma'am Malou Fores and the rest of the Roxas family, God bless you all.

Joey Montelibano, the son of Maria Montelibano is responsible for all the black propaganda against you. He heads the alternative media group of Binay that is pushing for a Noy & Binay tandem. He is an addict and was once subject of a warrant resulting in a long stay at Makati Med Basement and exile to Toronto, Canada. This person is unstable and hides behind the coat tails of his mother. Operations are funded by Gerry Limlingan and Cheeze Escudero and located at the 6th floor of the University of Makati (UMAK). All negative SMS were developed by him and his team including Bob Achacoso and Allan Capulong. He also works with Lito Anzures and Joey Salgado of the Binay Team and holds meetings every Friday at the Office of the Mayor, Makati City Hall. They will be using provincial cinemas and cable TV to launch the attack starting next week. Just today, the team met and agreed to pursue the plan to increase media buying in the amount of between 40 to 50 million as a result of the dzrh survey. His father (Jose) also holds office at the UMAK and uses Gawad Kaling (GK) as a cover because of his close ties to Tony Meloto. I am providing this information to you because he may join the new government once you and Noy win. He represents all that is wrong that you wish to change. Sadly, because his mother is in the team, he may just get a position of future deals. Be wary. And keep on fighting for us!

    Hi Philippines
Greetings on Commencement weekend in many universities.
May I pray with you all, for Noynoy Aquino and Mar Roxas.

    Prayer to St. Jude
    Most Holy apostle, St. Jude
faithful servant and friend of Jesus,
the Church honors and invokes you universally
as the patron of hopeless cases
    of things almost despaired of.
Pray for us, we are so helpless and alone
    make use, we implore you,
of that privilege given to you
to bring visible and speedy help
where help is almost despaired of.
Come to our assistance in this great need
that we may receive the consolation and help of heaven
in all our necessities, tribulation and sufferings
    particularly — (Make your request.)
and that we may praise 'God with you and all the elect forever.
we promise, O blessed St. Jude
to be ever mindful of this great favor
to always honor you as our special and powerful patron
and to gratefully encourage devotion to you.
    Amen.

    Mabuhay Philippines

    Hi, Philippines:
Greetings on a lovely summer day.
We have watched Mar Roxas come out of his silence and call supporters to watch the vote and continue the fight.
May God Almighty grant him the inmost desires of his heart — Divine Providence, good health and Love, long life of quality service to the country.
    Mabuhay, Philippines!

  • josephine acosta pasricha

    Hi Philippines:
Winning the vote is largely contextual. When we study how presidents and vice presidents and leaders of different countries won the elections, we would notice that they are bouyed up by a people's movement — Abraham Lincoln, Barack Obama, Corazon Cojuangco Aquino and now Benigno Simeon Aquino III. No cheating, no computer glitches, no fraud can cover up a people's movement. Even Sarah Palin is trying to grow a people's movement around her through the Tea Party. Erap Estrada still has his own people's movement which carries Jejomar Binay forward.
So please do no keep quiet. dear Mar Roxas. Continue to write here and communicate. Connect with the people now and in the future. You have to contextualize yourself in your own people's movement.
    Mabuhay, Philippines

    san ka na sir mar?

  • Rene D. Bautista Sr.

Congratulaton to our new DILG Secretary Mar Roxas, hoping he will follow the principles of the late Senador Roxas, i think he is his father, i don’t remember and the program of the late Secretary Jessie Robredo to fight against corruption. I may suggest that nour new DILG Secretary, to audit all Barangay Captains of the country before they file their candidacy for re-election and the new aspiring to run for barangay captain to submit their SALN to the BIR , as for my observances  most of the Barangay Captains and their councilors are one of the corruptors of this country. Thanks a lot.

  • Magdalena Jorge

Congratulation to Mr. Mar Roxas, our new DILG Secretary.  Honesty in choosing our leaders is rooted in the smallest unit in our government, that is the barangay levels.  It is uplifting to know a good man is in position to handle this very delicate post in DILG!  GOOD JOB Mr. President!
