We are truly hopeful that the new administration will guide us to a better future. I've watched Nonoy's first SONA and i appreciated it and i want to make this suggestion regarding the privatization of PAGCOR… instead of privatizing, they should ammend its charter together with PCSO. The money generated by these institutions can be a big help in the health care sector. Instead of donating to local government units, they might as well allocate portions of their income for the improvement of state run hospitals or additional funding for PhilHealth in order to extend its coverage for a universal health care program. I think the best thing to do is to create a health care program that caters to all citizens by providing free medical or dental care much like the NHS of Great Britain. I've learned that the PCSO and PAGCOR earnings are in billions, and with the contributions of PhilHealth members, i think it is feasible to have a health care program similar to Great Britain, France or Canada wherein the people don't have to worry about getting sick because they can always go to a clinic or hospital and be taken cared of without worrying about the bills that they would incur. And having socialized medicine too should be incorporated in the program wherein only persons between the age of 18 up to 59 yrs. old are charged for any prescription medicine that they buy at a pharmacy and that there would be a standard charge of for example P500.00 only regardless of the quantity or the kind of drug that they buy. It will surely ease-up the burden of most filipinos and could perk-up the economy since they have more money to buy other goods or services specially the senior citizens since they have pensions. Instead of using their pensions for buying medicines, they spend it on groceries and other things since they get their medicines for free.
